Let us now talk about the construction in Dubai. The construction work in Dubai was in full swing between 2003 and 2008. They are going on though not with the speed of early years. But there is no end to these constructions in sight.

There are many prestigious and expensive construction projects in Dubai. Dubai is a city always on the move and variety of constructions can be seen here. Due to these constructions its economy is always on the rise even when the world was plunges in recession. Construction in Dubai seems to be an unending process.

Burj Khalifa was considered to be the world’s tallest building when it was constructed. It has offices. It has residential apartments and has the required entertainment facilities. The famous Armani housing name is also housed in this building. The building is situated in the center of the city known as ‘Sown Town’.

Burj al Arab is also called the symbol of Arab. When it was constructed in 2007 it was the only hotel in the world which was rated 7 star. One of the important feature of this building is that many of its rooms have solid gold inside.


Dubai World is really a masterpiece. When seen from the above it looks like a world map. It has many manmade islands.

The Palm Islands Dubai is a project which is similar to Dubai World. The islands on Palm Islands are in the shape of palm leave. The stem of the palm leave connects the island to the main land. There are many villas and residential accommodations which provide the enjoyment of living near water.

Hydropolis hotel had the distinction of being the world’s first under water hotel at the time of its planning. The main attraction is the electric water taxi which takes the visitors from the main land to the entrance of the hotel which is on an island. The visitors can view the wonderful scenes of the marine life from the windows of this hotel.

Dubailand is also an important attraction. It is the Disneyland in the desert. It was the biggest park of such type when it was planned. Some people say that it must be included in the wonders of the world.

It has many recreational facilities in addition to the theme of the park. The project is constructed on about 3 billion square feet area.

Dubai Metro was also the biggest metro system of the world when it was planned and commenced. It seems to be Dubai’s reply to the problem increasing traffic, pollution and rise in population.

Mall of Emirates was the largest mall outside America when it was constructed. The flooring is completely made of marble. It is the center of tourist shopping activities which bring foreign money in Dubai.
Then there is Ski Dubai. Here you will find ice in the desert. It is the manmade ski resort and is located inside the Mall of Emirates.
Dubai Mall was built after Mall of Emirates as the biggest mall of the world when it was planned and when it commenced. When it was constructed it was planned to be the biggest retailing hub of the world with many stores as big as of the size of a mall.
